Legion Baseball: Blues win two more games
SAULT STE. MARIE – The Marquette Blues are now 4-0 at the Wood Bat Tournament. The American Legion baseball team defeated Sanford 5-4 and the Eastern U.P. 4-3.
Marquette’s McKinley Larson, Levi Underwood, and Sam Leow each had an RBI against Sanford. Larson pitched six innings to get the win. He gave up just one earned run and struck out five.
The Blues needed nine innings to defeat the Eastern U.P. Marquette trailed 3-2 entering the bottom of the ninth. They scored two runs in crunch time to earn the victory and improve to 4-0 in the tournament.
