LaVictor sentenced after sexual assault conviction

MARQUETTE — U.S. District Court Judge R. Allan Edgar sentenced a man to nearly 30 years in prison after he sexually assaulted his girlfriend last year.

44 year–old Lynn Michael LaVictor sexually assaulted his girlfriend last July. The injuries from the assault required her to have surgery. LaVictor also tried contacting his then girlfriend in an attempt to influence her testimony, even after he was arrested and told to have no contact with her.

A federal jury convicted LaVictor on all of the charges in December, following a four day trial. The Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Police and the FBI investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeff J. Davis and Hannah N. Bobee prosecuted the case.
