L’Anse Pamida Store Opens

It took months of construction and preparation, but the wait is over.

And folks in Baraga County have a long-awaited new place to shop.

The brand-new Pamida store on US-41 in L’Anse is open for business.

It’ll be open from 9am to 9pm every day.

But this morning, it opened at 8 so that people who were already waiting outside could get in as soon as possible.

They’ve also had to hire about 25 people.

And that may help take the sting out of the job losses the area has had to endure lately.

The Pamida store’s grand opening celebration isn’t until later this month.

But they are having an opening ceremony of sorts — it’s going on at the store right now.
