Lake Superior State Green Energy Grant

One of the ways Michigan is trying to lead the way nationally on new energy jobs is to help small businesses become more energy-efficient.

The state’s Department of Labor and Economic Growth has a program dealing with that.

It’s called Rebuild Michigan.

They’ve just given Lake Superior State a little over $8,600.

LSSU is spending that money on a new community partnership in the Soo.

The goal is to promote efficiency and renewable energy in commercial buildings.

The Lake State grant is part of the more than $130,000 awarded statewide.

Lake State isn’t the only U.P. recipient, either.

There’s another group a little bit closer.

You’ll get to meet them, and you’ll hear what they’ll do with their share of the money, coming up tomorrow on UGN News.
