Lake Effect Snow Advisory

The weather might not look ominous right now, but that will be changing in the next few hours and days.

Predictions are for dangerous, hazardous and impassable travel conditions.

The Lake Superior shoreline from Luce County to Gogebic County has an advisory until 7 tomorrow night.

Some parts of the area got their first snow of 2011 today.

It was up to several inches in spots.

But the heavy stuff sets in tomorrow.

Megan Babich of the National Weather Service says it should be upwards of a foot tomorrow, and it should last through at least Sunday morning.

The chance of snow in the north central u–p is 100 percent from the daylight hours tomorrow through Saturday night.

It’s 50% or higher until Sunday night.

M–28 in Alger County, less than a hundred yards from the water at times, will be especially difficult to drive on with all the blowing snow.
