Hancock, MI – Finlandia University women’s basketball coach Terry Klemett has announced that Jeanna Aijala has committed to continue her education and basketball career at Finlandia University starting in the fall.

Aijala, a 5’7” guard from Hurley, Wisconsin, comes to Finlandia from Gogebic Community College. While at Gogebic, Aijala averaged 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals per game. She also shot 38% from the 3-point line and 88% from the charity stripe. Jeanna led Gogebic to a Region 13 championship as a sophomore and was named to the All-Region First Team.

During her senior year at Hurley High School, Jeanna led the Midgets to a 24-2 record and was named to the All-Indianhead Conference First Team as well as the conference MVP.

“Jeanna is a very competitive player who hates to lose,” said Coach Klemett. “She is very good defensively, very skilled offensively, and can flat out play! She is a proven winner and I am very excited to have Jeanna part of this university and program.”
