KoozieLight wins Biz Competition

“The Edge – The U.P.’s Business Plan Competition” has selected the winner of its inaugural Competition. Following detailed evaluation and lengthy deliberation, the Competition’s Advisory Panel selected KoozieLight, LLC, as having the best business plan.

“We are extremely happy to have won this competition,” stated David Beaudette of KoozieLight. “To have an opportunity to work with some of the best business minds here in the U.P. will be great for our business.” KoozieLight has been awarded a consulting prize package valued at up to $10,000.

“Despite the fact this business plan competition is new, we were very pleased with the variety and volume of the submitted plans”, stated Jim Prophet, CPA, Partner at Grandchamp, McBride & Prophet and a member of the Advisory Panel. “We believe the uniqueness of the prize package was an impetus for local entrepreneurs to give this competition a try.”

KoozieLight, LLC holds a patent-pending on a unique product that utilizes traditional beverage koozies but with a twist. “The koozies come with a lighting system that highlights whatever beverage container is placed in the koozie. From kid’s drinks to sports drinks to adult beverages, it is a great spin on a simple idea,” stated Ben Johnson, Creative Director of Elegant Seagulls and Advisory Team member who will work with KoozieLight to help market the new product. More information, including how to order them, is found on the website: http://www.koozielight.com/.

“Competition was fierce, and KoozieLight’s innovation, combined with their business model, is a stellar accomplishment. We look forward to assist in propelling their business to its next level of success,” stated Paul Arsenault, President of Concepts Consulting and a member of the Advisory Team who will help with corporate financing.

The Competition was available to anyone or any group living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The package includes consulting services from specialists in business, accounting, marketing/branding, and finance, and will aid KoozieLight, LLC, by providing their expertise and experience at no charge.

“Over the next several weeks we will help refine the business model and make numerous suggestions to improve product marketing, distribution, branding, and to solidify the sales process. In addition, we will provide the infrastructure needed to efficiently and effectively operate the business,” stated David Saint-Onge, President of Black Ink Assets/e-Loft.
