A lake effect snow advisory is in effect for the Keweenaw Peninsula until Friday morning.

Copper country schools were closed on Thursday…a rarity for this area.

Frigid temperatures and a biting wind were as much to blame as the snow…and there’s plenty of that too.

Heavy winds, exceeding 30 miles per hour, caused blowing snow to be a constant problem.

Tonight’s forecast…more snow—3 to 5 inches with more in the higher elevations. And the wind will continue to gust between 20 and 30 miles per hour.
