Kennecott Eagle Mineral geophysical Survey
Now that the weather is clearing up, you may be seeing a helicopter in the Marquette and Baraga county Skies…and even further west.
Kennecott Eagle Minerals will continue a series of geophysical surveys
that started late last year.
Helicopters will have geophysical equipment tethered behind the aircraft.
They will be flying fairly low…but the company says they will be in compliance with Federal Transit Administration guidelines.
The choppers will be housed and will re–fuel at the old Marquette county airport in Negaunee Township.
That location provides a cost–savings over having the chopper fly back and forth to the survey sites from sawyer international airport.
