NEGAUNEE — ‘DRIVENSS’ in Negaunee is used to keeping people warm in the winter with remote starters. But for the 3rd year they’re helping kids stay warm outside of the car, too.

Coats For Kids is an excellent opportunity for members of the community to help keep a child warm during the cold winter months. By making a donation, the donors will have a golden opportunity to keep themselves warm too.

“You’re bringing a mildly used coat for a kid, you can just donate it,” said DRIVENSS CEO Jeremy Lambertson, “we take care of the cleaning and all of that jazz and then give it to the Salvation Army and they do the dispersal. But basically you can bring one in and you get a discount on a remote starter. Either our one–way models or our two–way models. The discount is up to 50 bucks on a remote starter.”

All of the coats donated at DRIVENSS will be dispersed locally. Lambertson added that he felt it’s important for businesses to give back to their community when they can.

The Coats For Kids program began October 1st and will continue until December 24th.
