JT locked up for MDA fundraiser

Jerry Taylor, JT as you know him here ABC 10, was taken into custody earlier this afternoon at the Ore Dock Brewery in Marquette. Turns out he didn’t actually do anything wrong, he was only helping raise awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for its annual Lock-Up fundraiser.

The organization has already raised $16,000 for those affected by the genetic disease. But, with the help of volunteers like JT, the not-for-profit hopes to add to that total and help support 14 families in the Marquette area throughout the entire year.

Everyone who was locked up at today’s event, made pledge phone calls to family and friends to help bail them out of the maximum appreciation facility. A typical donation is $30, which pays for a flu shot for a child and a family member.

MDA covers 43 different types of neuromuscular diseases that affect all age ranges, including adults with Lou Gehrig’s disease.

If you didn’t receive a call from JT or any other of the inmates at the Ore Dock, you can still help by donating online or calling the MDA.
