MARQUETTE — After nearly three decades in business at the Westwood Mall, a local jewelry store is leaving the mall in favor of their own building.

Jandron’s Fine Jewelry held a groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon at their future home, the Jandron Retail Center on County Road HQ, right across from Target in Marquette Township.

The 7,770 sq. ft. space will take about eight months to construct. The retail center will have space available for more than just the jewelry store.

“We have three available rentals,” said Tammy Jandron–Kulbieda. “We’ve already had a few phone calls with interest and so we just have to start the process with deciding who’s going to fit the spaces the best.”

“We just decided it was time for a change,” said Tia Arntsen. “We were in the Westwood Mall for 28 years, starting with when we opened and we just feel the time is right that we go out on our own.”

Jandron’s will remain at the Westwood Mall through Christmas. The new Jandron Retail Center is set to open up for business in early 2017.
