Jack Rabbit Snowshoe Challenge

If you’re looking to beat cabin fever this weekend, an area nonprofit is challenging community members to a snowshoe race.

Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan is hosting the fifth annual Jack Rabbit Snowshoe Challenge.

It’s an opportunity for both avid snowshoers and beginners to take on friends and family in a bit of a competition.

The event is fun for all ages and spectators are welcome to join in on the action.

Teaching Family Homes public relations manager Rich Rossway says they have one-kilometer, five-K and 10-K races.

All proceeds from the event go to the group’s youth education programs.

The races start at 10 am this Saturday at the Teaching Family Homes campus in Harvey.
