Isle Royale to host Cultural Resources Plan meetings
A series of public meetings regarding the development of the Cultural Resources Management Plan (CRMP) will be held at Isle Royale National Park throughout November.
During the meetings, the planning team will present information about preliminary draft alternative concepts that provide a full range of options for the management, treatment, and interpretation of cultural resources. The public will be able to offer up their input on the proposed concepts and any other ideas about the planning process following the presentation.
“Isle Royale has such interesting and varied cultural resources and associated compelling stories. We are very excited to be working on this plan,” commented Park Superintendent, Phyllis Green. “I hope the public takes this opportunity to engage with the planning team and let us know how they would like see cultural resources managed in the future.”
A newsletter providing information on the planning process, preliminary alternative concepts, draft park foundation document and a comment card for providing comments is available at Isle Royale headquarters and on the NPS planning website: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/ISROcrmp.
