Ishpeming Salvation Army Harvest Fest

From the presidential debates to local political forums, candidates are in agreement on at least one issue: many people are struggling financially.

But a special event tomorrow night can help many needy families in Marquette County.

The basics are almost luxuries for many families right here in the Upper Peninsula.

Putting food on the table and keeping the utilities on is something that requires community help.

The annual Harvest Fest will take place Wednesday night at the Ishpeming Salvation Army, and it’s open to the public.

The evening will include raffles, a silent auction and, of course, dinner.

Paul Bonetti, tomorrow night’s auctioneer, says the proceeds will be put to work replenishing the Salvation Army food pantry’s shelves.

The doors open at 5 pm tomorrow for the dinner, and the auction begins at 6 with items like a Green Bay Packers team-autographed football and an autographed photo of Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions.
