Ishpeming accident follow-up
The Ishpeming Police have released the names of the people involved in a three–vehicle crash on Thursday.
It happened at US-41 and Lakeshore Drive shortly after 2:30 pm.
Police say 23-year-old Samantha Yelland of Ishpeming was driving on Lakeshore when she failed to stop her Ford Explorer at a red light.
She hit a Chevy Cavalier driven by 17-year-old Austin Rivard of Ishpeming.
Rivard’s car then struck a Buick Rendezvous that was stopped at the light.
Fifty-six-year-old Valerie Arpainen of Champion was driving the Buick.
The Explorer and the Cavalier had to be towed.
Rivard and an unidentified juvenile passenger in one of the vehicles were treated at Bell Hospital and released.
Police gave Yelland a ticket for running a red light.
