Ironwood Township Sues Mobile Home Park
A Gogebic County community is suing the absentee owners of a trailer park there.
It’s the Ironwood Mobile Home Park on Lake Road in Ironwood Township.
Township officials say the owners haven’t paid any water or sewer fees since 2005.
That amounts to $26,000.
They’re suing the owners in civil court.
Township board members say the tenants living there are paying the fees; they’re included as part of the rent.
They accuse the owners of not turning those funds over to the township.
Township officials say their phone calls to the owners about the overdue bills haven’t been answered or returned.
They tried to file criminal charges against the owners earlier this year.
But Gogebic County Prosecutor Richard Adams decided not to pursue them.
