Ironwood man arraigned on firearms charges
An Ironwood man faces two firearms charges after a standoff with police this weekend.
Mitchell Burton, 24, was arraigned in Gogebic County District Court Monday. He is charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm.
Ironwood Public Safety said the incident took place Saturday on Suffolk Street while investigating a larceny complaint. While on scene, officers recognized Burton, who had a warrant out for his arrest.
Burton allegedly refused to comply with the demands of police and was arrested after a brief standoff.
He will be back in court February 20 for a preliminary exam.
