Iron River Road Construction Begins

Traffic changes for US–2 road work in Iron River went into effect today.

It will involve reconstruction of more than a half–mile of US–2 from 9th Avenue to River Avenue, and one block of M–189 from Genesee Street to US–2, in the city of Iron River.

During the first stage of road construction, Adams Street will be reconstructed at 9th Avenue. Traffic on US–2 will be maintained with one lane of traffic using a temporary traffic signal. A US–2 detour is expected to go into effect in early June.

Businesses along Adams Street will remain open throughout construction and business access will be maintained at all times. The project should be wrapped up by October 19.
