Iron River Credit Union Robbed

An armed robbery at a credit union in Iron River has police on the lookout for a suspect.

Someone robbed the Superior Iron Range Community Federal Credit Union shortly before 10:30 Central time Tuesday morning.

Iron River Police describe the suspect as a stocky young male, standing about 5’9″.

He was said to be wearing a black helmet with a mask that fully covered his face, as well as dark green coveralls.

The suspect left the scene on a green four–wheeler, heading northwest.

The West Iron County Schools were placed on lockdown for about two hours since a person of interest in the robbery that police were looking at lived near the school.

There’s no word on how much money was taken.
