Iron Mtn. Attempted Robbery Update
We have an update for you on an alleged gas station robbery attempt we’ve been telling you about for two weeks.
The Iron Mountain Police Department has identified the suspect involved in the suspicious incident at the Holiday gas station on November 27th.
The man seen in this photograph from surveillance video was recently arrested in Marinette County, Wisconsin on unrelated charges.
The Dickinson County Prosecutor says there isn’t enough evidence to pursue charges in the attempted gas station robbery.
Under Michigan law, a charge of robbery or attempted robbery requires evidence of a threat of force or an assault that places the victim in fear.
Neither a threat of force nor a weapon were present in the incident.
Furthermore, the incident was not reported to law enforcement for several hours after it occurred.
