Iron Mountain, Kingsford police remind residents of parking ban

IRON MOUNTAIN/KINGSFORD — The Iron Mountain Police Department and the Kingsford Public Safety Department would like to remind residents about the overnight winter parking ban that goes into effect Saturday, November 1.

The winter parking ban prohibits vehicles parking on streets, alleys, and city owned lots between 2-7 a.m.

Due to weather conditions, both IMPD Acting Chief Ed Mattson and KPSD Director Tim Gussert stated officers will not being enforcing the overnight parking ban until the first measurable snowfall requires snowplows to be called out.

Residents of both cities should stay aware of approaching weather systems that forecast snow, and remove their vehicles from streets, alleys, and parking lots as enforcement will begin that evening without further notice.

The ban runs through March 31 for residents of Kingsford and April 30 for residents of Iron Mountain.
