Investigation by police results in meth arrest

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — An investigation by the Ishpeming Township Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a man from National Mine.

Thirty–three year old Lee Allan Kukla was arraigned Thursday in Marquette County District Court. He is facing charges of possession of meth and attempted resisting or obstructing a police offer.

Last month, Ishpeming Township Police observed a suspicious person in the Snyder’s Drug Store parking lot. After the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the charges from the investigation, Kukla was taken into custody Wednesday evening without incident.

He’s due back in court for his preliminary exam on April 5th. Kukla remains in jail on a $35,000 bond.
