GWINN — Police have concluded their investigation into an incident that led to the death of a four-year-old girl in Gwinn.

Forsyth Township Police say they investigated the incident in which Amarah Filizetti was severely injured after a heavy safety partition fell on her at the Gwinn High School gym on September 3rd. They interviewed school officials and others who were present when the incident happened. After consulting with the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office, which reviewed the investigation, police say no criminal charges will be authorized.

The investigation found that the wood-framed partition weighed about 325 pounds. Amarah was treated for her injuries at UP Health System – Marquette before being airlifted to a downstate hospital where she passed away.
