International Cuisine to please your palate

International Cuisine to please your palate

Greek, Indian, German, Japanese, Jamaican, Italian and Swedish exotic dishes will all be served at the 24th annual International Food Festival.

Hosted by the NMU “All Nations Club,” the event is open to one and all with specialty cuisines to appease almost any palate.

Preparations are underway to design specialty dishes from all over the globe to be featured at the festival. To get your taste buds warmed up, dishes such as Greek pastrami bourekas, Indian samosas, German hamburger soup and a Japanese cucumber salad will be part of the sumptuous selections.

“I am actually doing one of my recipes from my Polish heritage and that’s a Dill Pickle Soup which is really interesting.  One of the new dishes this year is a L.A. Style Rib which is marinated in Coca–cola then mixed with a Korean BBQ Sauce, real contemporary, real hip,” said Christopher Kibit, Hospitality Management Professor.

“Except for Chinese food which I like the best, my favorite is Spanish food, I like the desserts from other countries,” said Ling Ling Zheng,” All Nations Club President.

If you are looking to partake in the festivities the event runs from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. tomorrow at the NMU Jacobetti Complex in Marquette.

All tickets are $10.  Students can purchase advance tickets for $7 at the International Programs Office.
