Inmate faces felony charge
An inmate at the Baraga Correctional Facility faces a possible life sentence for a threat to a state lawmaker.
43 year old Larry Taylor was arraigned today on a one–county felony warrant for solicitation of murder for plotting to kidnap and kill State Representative Barb Byrum. Taylor was arrested September 26th.
The investigation started September 9th when department of corrections investigators at the Marquette Branch Prison intercepted a letter detailing the plot. An undercover investigation with the Michigan State Police major case unit led to Taylor’s arrest. Taylor remains in the Baraga Correctional Facility.
