Immigrants in the Media

Northern Michigan University’s Beaumier Heritage Center is displaying a special collection from the Michigan State University Museum.

The exhibit gives visitors a chance to see how immigrants were seen by different print media.

Dan Truckey of the center says the images in the collection date back to the Civil War and to World War I, when immigration to the United States really took off.

The exhibit will be on display at the Beaumier Heritage Center through the end of March.
