Ill. men arraigned on drug charges in Luce Co.

The two Chicago men who were arrested by the Straights Area Narcotics Enforcement team on multiple drug charges were arraigned Friday in the 92nd District Court in Luce County.

Bradley Scott Heard, 35, is charged with six, second–offense notice counts.  Those include four counts of Conspiracy to Deliver Cocaine or Heroin, less than 50 grams; Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Drug House; and Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana.

Harvey C. Owens, 27, is charged with two second-offense notice counts of Conspiracy to Deliver Cocaine or Heroin, less than 50 grams and one count of Obstructing Justice.

The men are both charged as habitual offenders, fourth offense.

S.A.N.E. arrested the pair Thursday after they were seen boarding a bus in Newberry.

Officers seized crack cocaine, marijuana, and cash from the suspects, as well as evidence of drug trafficking from the suspects’ home.

Heard will be in court for a pretrial on September 19 and has a preliminary scheduled for September 23; Owens will be in court September 23 for his pretrial.
