Huskies Moving Up in the D2 Polls
HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech moved up No. 15 in the D2Football.com poll and jumped into the American Football Coaches Association poll at No. 21 this week.
Tech climbed five spots in the D2Football.com poll from its No. 20 position a week ago. The Huskies earned a 35-21 road victory at Saginaw Valley State last Saturday (Sept. 19) to improve to 3-0 on the year.
Four GLIAC teams are ranked in the D2Football.com poll: Ferris State (No. 2), Michigan Tech (No. 15), Ashland (No. 20) and Grand Valley State (No. 25). Only two appear in the AFCA poll: Ferris State (No. 4) and Tech (No. 21).
Michigan Tech will square off against rival Northern Michigan on Saturday (Sept. 26) night in the annual Miner’s Cup game. Kickoff at Sherman Field is set for 7 p.m.
