Huskies men’s hoops team to face Rangers

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team will not play a conference game until the calendar reads ‘2015.’ The Huskies travel to Wisconsin Parkside this weekend for their final non-conference game against the Rangers. Last year in Houghton, Tech defeated Parkside 83-79.

This year’s version of the Rangers present a number of different challenges according to Coach Luke.

“Parkside is going to be a very difficult challenge,” said Luke. “They have most of their team back that was in last year’s national tournament. Ziggy (Zygimantas Riauka), their big kid is a load down there. He’s a handful. We’re going to need to scheme a couple of defenses to try and contain him.”

“Their guards aren’t sneaky good, they’re really good,” added Luke. “If you look at the stat sheet, they all have great stat lines at the end of the game. It’s going to be a challenge. We’re going to need to have one of our better contests.”

Tip-off Saturday between the Huskies and Rangers is set for 4 p.m.
