Huskies football team is nationally ranked

WACO, Texas — For the first time since Oct. 15, 2012, Michigan Tech is ranked in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll. The Huskies, fresh off a 34-31 victory over rival Northern Michigan last Saturday (Sept. 27) to move to 4-0, enter the poll at No. 23.

Tech is one of three GLIAC teams in the top 25. Ohio Dominican is ranked No. 8 while Ferris State is at No. 13. All three teams are 4-0 on the year.

Three of the Huskies four wins have come by less than a touchdown. Field goals on the final plays of the game at Wayne State (Sept. 4, 18-17) and Northern Michigan (Sept. 27, 34-31) decided two of those.

Michigan Tech has this weekend off. Its next game will come Oct. 11 at Northwood.
