A musical comedy ready to hit the stage at Negaunee High School.

The drama club is performing How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

The production follows the story of Finch, a man who starts working as a window washer and works his way up in a company within a matter of weeks.

His arch enemy, Bud Frump, starts to get jealous of Finch’s success.

“He’s (Bud) is the arch-enemy of Finch, the main lead,” Ricky Peterson, who plays Bud, said.  “They’re butting heads the whole time because Finch is a lot better at things than Bud is so it’s good, they kind of butt heads.”

How to Succeed is a family-friendly production with plenty of punch lines and jokes scattered throughout the play.

“(It’s) fun to bring the kids to, the kids will love it and will laugh,” Negaunee High School senior Dani Anderson, who plays Smitty, said.  “I’ve seen the other products they’ve (the drama club) done, and seeing the kids come and love the performances and I think it’s great for young ones to come and see performances like this to get a musical background.”

“The show is really, really good and it’s funny and it’s a very family friendly show,” Peterson said.  “It’ll give you something more to do on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday than just sitting home and watching TV.  It gives you sort of a new aspect on life in a way.”

Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Negaunee High School Auditorium.

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for students.
