House damaged by early morning fire

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — A house in Forsyth Township appeared heavily damaged after an early morning fire on Monday.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., Forsyth Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to a residence on Johnson Lake Road for the report of a structure fire. The house was fully engulfed in flames when personnel arrived. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in about an hour. No one was home at the time of the incident.

According to Forsyth Township Police Chief Gordon Warchock, this is the second time the house has been involved in a fire within the last week. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

The Forsyth Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the Sands Township and Skandia-West Branch Township Fire Departments as well as the Forsyth Township Police Department.
