Houghton County Fire

A fire disrupted the lives of several people in Houghton County over the weekend. The Sheriff’s Department says emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Rhode Island Road about 1:00 Sunday morning.

Eight juveniles and three adults were displaced from the residence due to damage from the fire. Members of the residence were able to contain the fire themselves. One adult received minor burns and was taken to Portage Health where he was treated and released. Boston and Quincy-Franklin Fire Departments were assisted by Mercy Ambulance and members of the American Red Cross.
