Hot dog! Superior Koney on a roll
NEGAUNEE — Food trucks have become one of the more popular things in Marquette County. From tacos to chicken, you can find just about anything your heart, or stomach desires.
Since late March, another food truck has made its way to the county. Mike Grant owns Superior Mobile Koney.
After 15 years in the food business, Grant bought a food truck to serve up Koney Dogs and a whole lot more. He says the area lacked a good Coney Dog destination.
“I figured that we needed a good Coney Island up here. I’m from the Detroit area originally and I missed by Coney Islands up here,” said Grant. “Breakfast, lunch and dinner anytime you want. Good, quality food from scratch at a decent price,” he added.
We asked Mike a very important question. What does he consider to be the perfect Koney Dog?
“It’s got to be a good chili sauce, a good Detroit Chili Sauce… National Coney Island Sauce and Kogel’s Hot Dogs,” said Grant. “You’ve got to have a Kogel, have the curve on their and the natural casing.”
