MARQUETTE — UP Health System Market President James Bogan announced today that Brian Sinotte, FACHE, has been appointed to serve as chief executive officer (CEO) for UP Health System – Marquette, effective August 15, 2016. Sinotte comes to Marquette from Maria Parham Medical Center (MPMC), a Duke LifePoint Healthcare facility in Henderson, N.C., where he served as CEO since February 2015.

“We are excited to welcome Brian to the Upper Peninsula,” Bogan said. “He is a strong and dynamic leader with more than a decade of healthcare management and operational leadership experience. We are confident that he is the right person to fill this important leadership position and guide the hospital into the future.”

Prior to MPMC, Sinotte served as CEO of MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue South, Ill., where he led strategic initiatives to improve financial operations at the hospital as well as enhance employee engagement, physician engagement and recruitment. He also held numerous other leadership positions at hospitals in Indiana, Virginia and Minnesota.

Sinotte received his bachelor’s degree from Saint John’s University in Collegetown, Minn., and a Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration from University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

“Having been part of the Duke LifePoint system for a while, I have had the pleasure of working with the Marquette team and getting to know them in previous settings,” Sinotte said. “I am genuinely excited to take on this new role and help build on the excellent work that is already happening at the hospital. I am particularly eager to engage with members of the local community and also start exploring new opportunities to enhance the delivery of high-quality care.”

Brian and his wife Jessica Haloskie, M.D., a family medicine physician, plan to reside in Marquette and become active members of the community. Sinotte replaces Trent Crable, who announced his decision to step down from the position earlier this month to take time off for personal reasons.
