Hospital announces expansion plans
IRONWOOD — Aspirus Inc. announced plans today to build a new health care complex in the western U.P.
Aspirus Grandview in Ironwood will tear down the current clinic attached to the hospital. A new outpatient clinic, cancer care center, and physical rehab center will be built in its place.
The new hospital addition will be 43,600 sq. ft., with a price tag of $16 million. Hospital officials say that this addition to the current hospital will enhance and expand the current medical services that they offer to the community.
Jeffrey Nehring, DDS, Aspirus Grand View Board Chairman said, “Our partnership with Aspirus has resulted in expansion of services in our communities. In the last five years, Aspirus has supported Aspirus Grand View to add a state of the art emergency care center, a world-class electronic health records system, heart care from visiting providers that is nationally recognized and a strong connection to the region’s leading health care system. Aspirus gives us the momentum we need to continue to do more and more for our community.”
Paula Chermside, Aspirus Grand View Chief Operating Officer explained, “Our goal has always been to continue to provide enhanced services to our community. Aspirus has supported us every step of the way. Not only is our future secure being fully integrated into Aspirus, we are able to commit now to the construction of an exciting new health care facility that will accommodate our expanding services.”

The new addition is expected to be complete come the winter 0f 2016.
