Hope Starts Here Challenge Setup

Raising money for nonprofit organizations is a difficult job.

It requires dedicated volunteers, creativity and publicity.

This weekend, all that culminates in the annual Hope Starts Here Challenge.

This morning a team of volunteers started setting up at Lakeview Arena in Marquette for the big weekend event.

Dr. Robert Winn, the research director of the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center, is excited the challenge is returning because it’s the center’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

This is the seventh year of the Hope Starts Here Challenge and this should have a record turnout.

The challenge has a variety of both competitive and non–competitive runs, walks, bike races and duathlons.

If you missed the pre–race-day deadline, you can still register to participate at the event itself.

The Hope Starts Here Challenge will take place this Saturday, beginning at 7 am, at Lakeview Arena.
