Home invasion trial continues in Alger Co.

A Chicago-area man will remain on trial in Alger County for one more day.

Ruben Rodriguez of Elmwood Park, Illinois was one of four people charged in connection with an armed home invasion in Munising Township.

Court officials say closing arguments will take place Friday morning.

Two of Rodriguez’s co–defendants have pleaded guilty.

One of them, George Carmona of Chicago, will spend 135 months to 225 months in prison for armed robbery, with credit for nearly a year served in the Alger County Jail.

He was sentenced on Wednesday.

Another co–defendant, Issac Cotto of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, will go to trial later this month.

Police say the four held a man hostage in his own home on East Powell Lake Road in Munising Township last February.
