Historic Homes Tour in Negaunee

Pioneer Days are rolling on in Negaunee.

The Friday activities included the annual Historic Homes Tour.

Different vintage properties are featured on the tour each year.

Some of them aren’t even homes, but generally, they have one thing in common.

They were built in the late 1800s, when the city was growing quickly in size because of iron mining.

“This year, we have two homes, a former hospital and two new businesses that have made their homes in historic sites downtown,” Negaunee Historical Society vice president Suzanne Morris said. “It’s always on the Friday of Pioneer Days.”

The buildings on the Historic Homes Tour have all either been maintained in or restored to their original condition.

The proceeds from the tour benefit the Negaunee Historical Society and Museum.
