HOUGHTON — A Calumet man will remain in jail after being sentenced in Houghton County Circuit Court.

Thirty-three year-old Patrick Shea pled guilty to Fleeing and Eluding after leading police on a high speed chase on March 31st.

Police were investigating a possible breaking and entering on Bootjack Road in Torch Lake Township when the chase began.

He was arrested shortly after.

Charges of 2nd Degree Home Invasion, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting, Obstructing and Assaulting a Police Officer were eventually dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Shea was also required to plead guilty to Driving While Impaired in 97th District Court.

He was sentenced to nine months in the county jail with credit for 102 days time served.

He was also given two years probation.
