High School Project Graduation planning underway

High school students across Upper Michigan are preparing for graduation,

but parents and school officials are planning for the graduates to have a safe evening of celebration.

Each year, the graduates of the Marquette Senior High School are kept safe and rewarded for their hard work with an all night party at the Superior Dome. Project Graduation has become a time-honored tradition that is attended by the vast majority of graduates each year.

The event will run from 9:30 p.m. on graduation day, Sunday, June 3rd, until 5:30 a.m. on Monday the 4th.

This huge undertaking could not happen, of course, without the help of the graduates’ families, who serve as volunteers in shifts, and the local community, which steps up with donations of money and prizes.

The Project Graduation Committee is currently signing up the parents of graduates for two-hour volunteer shifts that night in a wide variety of areas. In addition, the Committee is also seeking financial and prize donations from area businesses, organizations and individuals.
