High fire danger in Upper Michigan

Continued dry conditions and low humidity are creating additional worries for U.P. firefighters.

A low precipitation winter, followed by a warm, windy and dry spring, have created dangerously dry conditions across the Upper Peninsula.

The Department of Natural Resources is not issuing burn permits as the fire danger increases from moderate to high.
