Help needed in Gladstone to clear snowed-in hydrants

The city of Gladstone wants residents to help keep fire hydrants clear of snowfall.

Gladstone Public Safety says many hydrants within the city have been either completely covered or partially obscured by snow, making the hydrants difficult to find and use in an emergency. Public works crews are clearing them when they can, but frozen water lines have required immediate attention lately.

Public Safety officials are asking people who have a snowed-in hydrant near their home or business to help clear it so that emergency personnel can use it when needed.
