Health screenings offered during ‘A Day for Women’

Registration is now open to take part in a healthy day for women in the Copper Country.

Space is still available to take part in a day fully devoted to women’s health. A Day For Women, an annual event put on by U.P. Health System—Portage, takes place at Hancock High School next Saturday, on April 11th.

“It’s an opportunity for women of the Copper Country to come out and have a great day to pamper themselves but also take a little bit of time for themselves to focus on their health,” said Health and Fitness Director Angela Luskin.

In addition to the several health screenings that will be done for $30. Women will also be able to shop a wide selection of vendors.

“From all different areas, like 31, Pampered Chef is there, but then we have local people who are making homemade soaps, stationery, there’s someone there with Dove chocolates, so a really neat array of vendors that will be participating,” Luskin said.

Registration is capped at 230 people and typically does fill up so you are encouraged to visit portagehealth.org/dayforwomen or call 483–1153 for more information.
