Happy birthday, Wattsson and Wattsson!
MARQUETTE — Tonight, an Upper Peninsula jewelry store is celebrating a milestone anniversary.
Wattsson and Wattsson Jewelers have been in business for 30 years. They celebrated the anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning.
Ron Wattsson opened the jewelry shop on September 7th, 1985. Since his passing in 2010, Wattsson’s children, Chris and Ruby now run the business.
“I’ve been here for 15 years of it and it seems like just yesterday that I started working here. It’s really exciting,” said Chris Wattsson. “I love sitting down with customers and remaking pieces for them. Being out in the public, hearing all of their stories and seeing people come in and telling me their story on how they got it is a really cool thing to see.”
Wattsson and Wattsson is located at 118 W. Washington Street in Marquette.
They’re open 10 – 7 Monday through Saturday and 12 – 4 on Sunday.
