Hancock Man Gets Child Abuse Sentence

A Hancock man is going to prison for at least 7 years for abusing his infant son.

35-year-old Mark Krock received his sentence this morning.

It was 95 months to 15 years with credit for 7 months already served.

That’s the maximum he could have received.

In December, a jury convicted Krock of 1st-degree child abuse.

He abused his son on 4 different occasions last year, injuring him badly enough to cause permanent brain damage.

During Krock’s trial, he testified that the abuse was accidental, saying he was alone with his son and blacked-out drunk on all 4 occasions.

Krock’s son has been placed in foster care in Ann Arbor.
