Gwinn Man Arraigned on Assault Charges
A Gwinn man is arraigned on charges stemming from a stabbing over the weekend.
37 year old Jonathan Paul DeGroot was arraigned yesterday in Marquette District Court.
DeGroot is charged with attempt to commit great bodily harm less than murder.
The victim Wesley Travis Compton was hospitalized at Marquette General Hospital after being stabbed twice.
The incident happened 5:30 Sunday night on Liberator at Sawyer.
DeGroot posted the 50,000 dollar bond and is due back in court for his preliminary exam on September 19th.
