Gussert to decide on B-Ball future soon

Choosing which college to play basketball when you have more than a few choices can be a difficult thing.

For Forest Park basketball star Lexi Gussert, she has more than a few schools to choose from.

Since her high school career began, Gussert has gained national attention playing basketball for the Trojans.

Just this past season, Gussert averaged 32.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. She was a unanimous selection as a Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association 2012-13 ‘Dream Team’.

The 6’0” forward was also named the Class ‘D’ player of year for the second straight year by the Associated Press.

Gussert tells ABC 10 Sports that she is close to making a decision on where she will be playing college basketball come the 2014-15 school year.

Here are the top five teams Gussert has narrowed her choices down to, in alphabetical order: Illinois, Marquette, Michigan State, Purdue, and Tennessee.

Gussert plans on announcing her selection by the end of April.
