Not guilty plea for man involved in armed robbery

The second man who was allegedly involved in an armed robbery of two Watton residents in Covington Township was arraigned in Baraga County Circuit Court Thursday.

Bernard Fish pled not guilty to multiple charges:  two counts of extortion, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of armed robbery and one count of impersonating a peace officer.  The armed robbery charge is a felony punishable by life in prison.

Baraga County Prosecutor Joseph O’Leary joined the proceedings via telephone.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for mid–January.

Fish’s accomplice, Donavan Waupoose, is scheduled for his trial in February, but O’Leary is seeking to combine the two trials.
